What do you get the couple who has everything?

For Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding, it seems that simply a charitable donation will suffice.

The royal couple, who will wed on April 29, are considering asking their guests to make a donation to a list of nominated charities, though there's still a way to go before invitations – and gifting instructions – are sent out.

"The couple is still considering a number of options regarding gifts but no final decisions have yet been made," a spokesman from William's office tells PEOPLE.

When William's parents, Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana, got married, they received thousands of gifts from well-wishers around the world, according to the Sunday Telegraph. Among the loot? Twenty silver platters inscribed with their wedding date from Australia, and an engraved porcelain set from President Ronald Reagan.

The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh, meanwhile, received over 2,500 wedding gifts, including jewelry from close relatives.

Will this royal couple follow the traditions of old, or start a new one of their own? (people)
